New Site

The other morning while scanning Hacker News I saw a link to the Wayback Machine. I hadn’t been there for a while and figured I’d look around. The first thing I looked at was my old websites. I couldn’t find my first website, Insanity’s Edge, nor could I remember anything about my Geocities website. But, I did discover that I had registered danwatling.com back in 1999 or 2000 and not only had a blog there but also a fan club! Scanning forward through some of the years I saw more blog posts that I had forgotten about.

I think it’s funny that 20-year old me had a fan club and a dating advice column. But I do think it’s great that I would sometimes write about programming. I still do that today on one of my other sites, Synaptik Labs. However, I haven’t posted in almost a year, but I do hope to get back to it soon.

After seeing my old sites and looking at what I had here, I felt it was time for a change. So I’m going to try something old again and have a personal site with more content about me and who I am.

In case you’re curious:

  • This is the only snapshot of Insanity’s Edge available on Wayback Machine.
  • This is the earliest snapshot of danwatling.com available. The JavaScript isn’t working and there aren’t any images.
